Sausage and egg balls are a breakfast message you want to hear in the morning, but they are also great as a snack. These beauties are a gastronomic delight and are beautiful to look at. They just look as good as they taste and they taste as good as they look. Make these ahead of time and keep them handy for those moments when you just want a snack you can throw in the microwave for a minute and be satisfied.

Easy Keto Sausage Balls

This recipe is easy to customize a bit based on your preferences. You can use spicy sausage to add a kick or switch up the cheese for another flavor combination. My personal favorite is spicy sausage and sharp cheddar cheese. Sausage balls freeze very well. When ready to eat, reheat for 20-second intervals in the microwave. Sausage balls can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature. If serving these as an appetizer, store them in a Crockpot set to “Warm” or “Low” to keep warm. Mix up the flavors by using spicy sausage or pepper jack cheese! This recipe makes 25 sausage balls, and each one has 0.8 net carbs.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly spray a large baking sheet or line with a silicone liner.
  • Combine all of the ingredients until well incorporated. I find this easiest in my stand mixer. Tightly roll the sausage balls into golf ball size balls. I had 25 each.
  • Bake 20-24 minutes.
