SUGAR FREE – MARINARA SAUCE
This sauce is just what you’re looking for to give that final touch to you Italian inspired dishes. It will give you that all important Italian flavor, without a load of carbs. There is no sugar in this recipe. There are several recipes on our site that call for Marinara Sauce and this recipe will work in any of those recipes or think of some from your own experience and let us know how that works out. We would love to put them up for others to enjoy.
Keto Marinara Sauce
This sauce is perfect for your pizzas, or your cuddle pasta dishes or to create pizza dip
Ingredients
- 400 grams Tomatoes either fresh, purred or canned Try these canned ones
- 50 grams Diced Red Onion
- 5 grams Chopped Garlic
- 2 tbsp Bacon Fat or Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp Butter Try this one
- 5 grams Fresh or Dried Oregano You can buy the dried oregano online
- Chilli Flakes to taste
- a handful of freshly chopped basil
Instructions
- Heat the bacon fat in a saucepan
- Add the chopped onion, season with salt and fry till translucent
- Add in the chopped garlic and chilly flakes and cook till golden brown
- Add in your tomatoes and season with salt and pepper.
- Cover and cook for 10-12 mintues till the oil separates from the tomatoes
- Add the fresh oregano and basil and cook for a further 2-3 minutes
- Finish with a tablespoon of butter
- Use on pizzas and pasta dishes.
