Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup monkfruit sweetener
  • 1 tablespoon molasses
  • 1 tablespoon cherry extract
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon extract optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract optional

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, combine the water and monkfruit sweetener. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring until the sweetener has completely dissolved.
  • Reduce the heat to low and add the molasses, cherry extract, vanilla extract, almond extract, lemon juice, cinnamon extract (if using), and almond extract (if using).
  • Simmer the mixture for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to allow the flavors to meld together. 4.Remove the saucepan from heat and let the syrup cool completely. Once cooled, transfer it to a glass jar or bottle with a tight-fitting lid.
  • Store the syrup in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

If using a sodastream machine: Fill your Sodastream bottle with cold carbonated water, leaving some space at the top for the syrup.
Add 1-2 tablespoons of the homemade Dr Pepper syrup to the carbonated water. You can adjust the amount according to your taste preferences.
Gently stir or shake the bottle to mix the syrup with the carbonated water.
Taste the mixture and adjust the amount of syrup if needed.
Serve over ice and enjoy your homemade monkfruit-sweetened Dr Pepper!
Please note that while this recipe aims to create a similar flavor profile to Dr Pepper, it may not be an exact replica. Experimenting with the ingredients and their quantities can help you tailor the recipe to your taste preferences.
