Frustrated With Paid Membership Pro

I am frustrated today with my lack of progress on finishing the membership section of my site. When I installed Paid Membership Pro it changed all the text on my site to white. Since I have a white background everything just disappeared. I have since gone in and manually changed as much text as I can to black. I have been told I need to change the CSS, but am afraid to mess with it. I need some help and I do not quite know where to turn. As yet the site is not making money and I do not have the finances to pay other people to fix things. So far I have created everything myself, but I am afraid to do anything until I get the site Duplicated and on a back up server, and yet I need the Membership Program to make money and it is what created this problem. I have to get this fixed. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
